BACKGROUND
Reto A. Lyk graduated magna cum laude in Law and Economics from the University of Bern in 1970. He spent three decades working in banking and securities, including 20 years at a major Swiss bank, where he became Managing Director and worked closely with the Chief Executive Officer.
He subsequently served on the management board of a major international bank before joining Switzerland’s largest cantonal bank, where he was responsible for underwriting and trading and later became Deputy CEO.
After leaving the banking industry, Reto worked as an independent investment expert and held various mandates for asset management companies. He also served as president of the supervisory board of a FINMA-recognised self-regulatory organisation and later became involved with Grimaldi & Partners Ltd. in an advisory capacity.
Reto has published three books and numerous articles on investments and financial markets. He has also taught business law, financial management, finance and banking at a university of applied sciences and arts. He speaks German, English, French, Spanish and Italian.
